Why I Founded Wereldwijd aan Tafel
Conflict is a natural part of life, but it doesn't have to define relationships or determine the future. Whether disagreements arise within families, the workplace, or between people living in different countries, I believe that respectful conversations can create meaningful change.
I've always been fascinated by communication, how people connect, why misunderstandings arise, and how the right conversation can change the course of a relationship. Living and working internationally has only strengthened that interest, showing me how differences in language, culture, distance, and perspective can make communication more challenging, but also how meaningful dialogue can bridge those differences.
That belief inspired me to found Wereldwijd aan Tafel.
The name translates to "Around the Table Worldwide," reflecting my belief that geography should never be a barrier to resolving conflict. Whether mediation takes place online or, where appropriate, in person, my aim is to create a confidential, impartial, and respectful environment where people feel heard, understand one another more clearly, and work together towards practical solutions.
For me, mediation is about more than resolving disagreements. It's about helping people move forward with greater understanding, stronger communication, and lasting outcomes.

How I Work
I'm Jamie Nijboer, the mediator behind Wereldwijd aan Tafel. My approach to mediation is calm, practical, and down to earth. I want people to feel comfortable speaking openly, even when the conversation itself is difficult.
Having lived and worked internationally, I've always been interested in people, communication, and the different perspectives we bring to a conversation. Throughout my career, helping people communicate, learn, and find a way forward has been a common thread and ultimately what drew me to mediation.
As a mediator, I don't take sides or decide who is right or wrong. I help create space for both perspectives, identify what really matters, and guide the conversation towards greater understanding and practical solutions.
The decisions remain yours. My role is to help make the conversation possible.
Professional Training & Qualifications
I have successfully completed an MFN-registered professional mediation training programme, providing a strong foundation in the principles, skills, and ethics of professional mediation.
My practice is guided by the core principles of mediation: neutrality, confidentiality, voluntary participation, and respectful communication. I am committed to ongoing professional development and continuously expanding my knowledge and skills to provide the highest standard of service.
